Exciting News from 2009!

New Equipment for our Facilities

• new stoves were donated to eight of our schools
• new refrigerators were donated to the four schools that needed them the most
  

New Medical Services for the Children and Their Families

• free operations have been offered through a large, modern hospital
• free one-day surgery is given to the families through a clinic called
  The Children of the Hands of Mary in Quito
• parasite remedies for the children are offered through the same clinic

Literacy Training and Horse Therapy

• Colegio Aleman of Quito is giving free literacy lessons for parents
• 20 children at a time each Monday can receive horse therapy
• Another organization, the AMEN foundation, is providing horse therapy for children with brain damage with spectacular results
• we are offering brain gym classes to the mothers of the children attending the horse therapy

Classroom Projects Accomplished

• three information talks for parents (see more info here)
• five classes in nutrition for school cooks
• six teacher training programs
• extra materials have been provided for classrooms

Message to Our Donors
We are so happy with the progresss that has been made in 2008, especially through our joinging together with other organizations to benefit the children and the families under our care. All of the children also received t-shirts and hats from the school for Christmas to protect them from the hot Quito sun. Please know that every donation makes a huge difference for us.
